Rating Mary Jane's Mogul Runs

Postby jkc » Mon Feb 13, 2017 4:01 pm

I was wondering if you guys could rate the mogul runs at Mary Jane; steepness, soft or icy, best for beginners, best for experts, or just your favorites.

It looks like a lot of the bumpapalooza videos are from runs on Golden Spike, Sterling Way, and Upper Arrowhead Loop.

I haven't been out there in a long time, but I had mentioned to my daughter that I was interested in picking up season passes for next year and trying to get twenty to thirty days of skiing in at Mary Jane.

Sooo many favorites:

* typical warm-up
bump section skiers right of sluice box
cut thru woods to mid Arrowhead loop
cut left to lower spike
then do lower Gandy (optional Frenchman)
(this is either a warm-up or hero type bumps good for speed and video)

* sterling to spike to lower gandy

* under the iron horse double to spike to gandy

* phantom to railbender to lower sleeper

* gandy from the top (my personal favorite)

* frenchman from the top

* arrowhead loop to super-gauage liftline (another favorite)

* Pano chair to Forever'eva, easy bumps for beginners and fun

* little bumps at top of sunnyside to the left and skier's right, then down to Columbine (soft in sun)

----

WP side:

* cranmer to Eskimo chair
* retta's run to Eskimo chair
* over-n-underwood off prospector chair (another favorite)
