Sundown Sunday 3/11?

Postby Chris Moore » Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:58 pm

Any of you New Englanders planning on hitting Sundown this weekend? Gunbarrel has top to bottom bumps and temps are forecast to be in the high 50's with clear skies.

I'd like to meet up and not only ski but take advantage of the good lighting to get some action photography for on the MS.N homepage. B-Stead..? Anyone..? Let me know.

I'll be there in the morning for the kid's lessons. I'll have to leave by like 1 or so though.

The bumps should be good, but desperately need skier traffic.

Are you going to make it to bump or bust?

I am in NH this weekend. Maybe next weekend, if it lives through the week. I would also like to shred Sugarbootie at some point - maybe next weekend.

The 17th/18th is a long warm week away MRJ...

If the weather co-operates I'll be there.

I think we'll make it to the 17th. The hill looks great right now. There's still some reserves left around the mountain. If need be we'll break out the shovels to fix any spots in the bumps.

What we really need is some skiers to get out here and ski these things in!

Who ended up going yesterday? It looked like it was starting to get good when I left around 12:30.

I might hit Sugarbush on 3/17 or 3/18. Does this conflict with the mogul comp? I hope note, I want to round up a good east coast posse to shred.

Sunday afternoon @ Sundown was good. Check the MS.N Facebook page for some photos I posted. Hard to imagine the snow lasting through this summer like weather for the next four days though.

Regarding Sugarbush, I'm a solid maybe...

It'll be rough for sure, but I believe they're going to do everything possible to make it happen. I have faith that we will have a fun time on Saturday!

We lost a lot of snow in the last week, but I was there yesterday and the bulk of the bumps we still solid with very few brown spots poking through. Saturday is the bump comp, from 11am until probably 3-4. Don't expect much free skiing time on gunny during those times. Then we close for the season at 5. We're closed today to preserve what snow we have left during the rain that's coming through now. Tomorrow I expect there will be a lot of hand shoveling work going on in the morning to get the course ready.

The bump comp is going to be a good time, but if you're coming up just to ski gunny I wouldn't recommend it.
