Season opener at Killington

Postby PomfretPlunge » Sat Oct 29, 2011 10:44 pm

Started the season today at K -- really nice conditions on Rime. Met Old School & skied a run together.

There was a short bump line on skier's right at the top of the second pitch. It was really soft and quite nice for a while, then it got weirded out by snowboards. There was a longer bump line on skier's left, but it got rocky & grassy pretty quick.

First day on my new Volkl Wall Moguls -- 2009 with the blue topsheet. I love 'em! Slick & clean. Stiffer than the Twisters so plenty of confidence when you shift the weight onto 'em.

Snowing lots tonite -- Powder Bumps tomorrow!!!!

They have been blowing new snow for two days on Needles Eye and Outer Limits. There should be bumps forming today now that it is supposed to warm up a bit. Northstar
(off of the Snowden quad) has bumps but watch out for some thin spots. Same goes for Vertigo (off the Needles Eye Quad).
